Cortney
Registered Dental Hygienist
Hello, I'm Cortney and I am thrilled to be your dental hygienist at West Sound Dentistry! Born and raised in King County, I am a proud graduate of the UW Shoreline Dental Hygiene Program. As a detail-oriented individual, passionate about the oral-systemic health connection, I strive to provide each patient with customized oral hygiene education that will empower them to achieve and maintain optimum health. I value holistic, integrative approaches to oral health through lifestyle coaching and healing the root cause of disease using the most current evidence-based therapeutic methods. I want to know more about you, your oral health goals, and how that connects to your overall wellness. I look forward to working with you and your family to help you achieve your healthiest smile and self! In November 2023, I relocated to Kitsap with my family. I am the mother to a spunky, beautiful, and intelligent little girl, and have a wonderful and supportive boyfriend who is a native to this beautiful part of the PNW. We live here in Poulsbo and love going on adventures to local restaurants, nature walks, and watching Master Chef Jr.
Tracy
Registered Dental Hygenist
The daughter of a high-ranking USAF officer and fighter pilot, Tracy traveled the US throughout the 60’s. When her father returned from Vietnam in 1969, she and her family moved to Kailua, Hawaii. In 1986, she left Hawaii to attend the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. She has been a practicing dental hygienist for over 36 years. She is certified in dental laser therapy and is a myofunctional therapist. The PNW has been her home for over 30 years. Currently, she works a couple of days a week. Traveling, gardening, and cooking take up most of her time.
Blakely
Registered Dental Assistant
Hi, I'm Blakely! I love spending quality time with my family and friends. I enjoy staying active with running, playing sports (especially soccer), yoga and hiking. Other hobbies include watching movies, painting, reading books, knitting, and taking film and digital photographs. I am passionate about the dental field and aspire to be a dentist one day.
Joan
Certified Dental Assistant
Greetings! I'm Joan and I have been working as a Registered Dental Assistant since 2021 after graduating from the Bremerton Dental Assisting School. In 2023, I achieved certification by the Dental Assisting National Board. Patients bring a smile to my face every work day and it's my personal goal to make them smile, share a laugh, and get them comfortable in that operatory chair! Before my interest in dentistry, I worked for decades in the publishing and marketing field as an Art Director. When not with my fabulous work family, I'm at home with my husband, daughter, and dog -- creating, hiking, kayaking, and living our best lives on beautiful Bainbridge Island!
Moe
Chief of Staff, Security, and Support
From time to time, West Sound Dentistry has a special visitor! You may run into Moe, who has several office responsibilities.
His official title is Chief of Staff, Security, and Support. Moe takes his job seriously. He likes to oversee the staff and ensure everyone is on task, so you may sometimes find him roaming the hallway and checking in.
Security. He'll let us know when the UPS driver arrives with the latest delivery of crowns or bridges.
Support. If you need a little doggie to curl up on the floor beside you, he'll be there.
Moe has been Dr. Horschman's best friend and family member since attending dental school. You will most often find him asleep at her feet.
We hope you'll find joy in Moe's presence and that he brings a smile to your face. Many patients feel he brings a sense of comfort and familiarity. We adhere to OSHA regulations and are also sensitive to one's allergies and sensitivities, so if you'd rather have Moe typing up a referral in the backroom than in your operatory, just let us know!
